Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the LORD returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes. (Isa 52:8 NIV)
May is an eventful month at the Watch: This month we’re consolidating our hours so that we can pray together rather than praying one after another. We’ll also be celebrating the 10 Days North Shore this month (May 17-26), with 10 gatherings of worship, prayer, and communion taking place in 10 different locations. Check out www.10daysnorthshore.com for more information on this transformational gathering.
Starting in March of 2012, believers from many North Shore Congregations have established a common life of prayer through “The Watch”. The name is inspired both by Scripture and also by the Moravians, who in 1727 began a 24/7 prayer watch that lasted over 100 years.
It is our hope that from a small beginning of common prayer, we also will be enabled to pray 24/7. Our goal in this united worship and prayer is three-fold:
- Spiritual Renewal, Revival, Joy, and Unity for believers on the North Shore: That we would abide in Christ, love one another as He has loved us, and be His ambassadors and image bearers to a lost and hurting world.
- For the beginning of powerful movements of church-planting, mission, and compassion both locally, throughout New England, and around the globe.
- Finally, as Isaiah declares, it is our desire that we see the Lord’s return “with our own eyes”.
